On Wednesdays we went to the hall to watch NZ vs Britain in the rugby sevens. NZ won. Britain got 12 points NZ got 27 points. In the finals NZ got a silver medal and Fiji got gold medal. It was so cool to watch NZ play Britain.

The Royal albatross
WALT: Use information from a text for our writing
The albatross feathers are mostly white with black on the top of the wing , the feathers look really colourful.
The albatross is the largest sea bird in the world because it measures up to 1.35 metres from the bill to the tail.
The albatross has salt glands inside its head; excess salt from the bird’s seafood comes out through the tube-like nostrils near the base of the bill.
The albatross oil gland is at the base of its tail.
The albatross uses its bill and the back of its head to spreader oil droplets from the gland which it then spreads throughout its feathers, this is believed to have a waterproofing effect.
When the baby albatross hatch the flies come around the nest and the people who work for D.O.C go and put vinegar around the albatross nest to keep the flies away from the baby's.

My Brilliant Bird Feeder plan
My Brilliant bird feeder - Plan and creation steps.
WALT : We are learning to draw a plan and set out the steps to make a Bird feeder using recycled and natural materials.
My visual plan
The steps I used to make my Brilliant bird feeder.
First I researched a bird feeder on my chromebook.
I drew a plan to show what it would look like.
Next I did labelling on the bird feeder diagram.
Then I wrote 6 steps for making my bird feeder.
Next I measured my window and my sticks so I knew
how long my sticks and window had to be.
Then I cut the windows and the sticks and glued the sticks onto the bottle.
After that I made holes in the bottle for the perches and for the rope to hang it up with.
Finally, I painted my bird feeder.
I like to work as a group to make bird feeders.
It was easy and Hard to make but that was my first time making a bird feeder.

Welcome to my bird feeder
My Brilliant Bird Feeder - Learning group task.
WALT -
We are learning to design and create a bird feeder from natural and recycled materials.
Think about | Your reflection | Image. |
Something new you learnt. I learnt how to use a ruler to have all the sticks the right length. | When I measure with a ruler it makes the windows straight.
Something you found tricky. Putting the stick through the plastic bottle. | The sticks in the bottle will be for the birds to eat and to sit on the stick.
Something you enjoyed. Painting was the best thing I enjoyed. | Painting my bird feeder made it more colourful. |
